GIPC Quarterly Webinar Update
Monday, April 20, 2020, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM PDT
Category: Webinar

The GIPC has been working on some new initiatives in the first quarter of 2020 and will be holding our Q1 update on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST. The meeting will be led by Don Elario, with committee members and the SME (Subject Matter Expert) resource pool members on the call as well. We encourage ECIA members and non-members to join us, learn what’s being worked on and submit your ideas and suggestions. Register Now!

First up will be Dale Ford, ECIA Chief Analyst who will provide a valuable update on the Coronavirus impact and then Victor Meijers, ECIA Sr. Vice President will share some of the highlights from the recent meeting held in Austin, TX on February 26,27 with the Joint Councils and the Board of Directors.

We will also cover the following topics:

(1)   The GIPC is currently engaged with the manufacturing council on a scoping document for a Design Registration project. We are working with Robert V. Kirch, VP of Global Distribution Sales, Vishay Intertechnology, who is the current leader of the council and an ECIA board member.

(2)   The joint project with ADI and Mouser Electronics, which is to develop a paperless process for handling manufacturer COC’s is in its final stages with IT and moving to testing in March.

(3)   Discussion of a “Channel Channel” podcast with Christophe Beque from IBM released on February 17th, where we discuss some blockchain solutions already in operation and follow up on the workshop held in NYC last June.

(4)   The Trust Bridge is a new service partner with ECIA and we are looking into the possibility of a workshop in Q4 to cover various topics in the areas of privacy and data security.

(5)   We are also working with Compliance & Risk to explore the possibility of a workshop to cover critical environmental and regulatory compliance trends in the electronics industry.

(6)   Lastly, we are continuing to sign up additional SME’s and will talk about how the new resource pool works and why you should encourage your colleagues to join the program. If you have an interest or want more information, please contact Don Elario at [email protected] .

The link below will take you to where you can register for the call.

We will also be recording the update and posting it on the website for people who cannot attend.
