The ECIA Executive Conference Committee is pleased to announce that the 2023 conference program is ready to roll. With an upbeat theme of ‘Making Waves, the Power of You,’ the program reflects a positive attitude as the industry adapts to the continuing volatility and disruption that appear destined to become permanent. This year, again there will be at least three breakfast roundtable sessions, as well as a stellar roster of speakers covering the topics most critical to strategic planning and executive decision making in this most interesting business environment.

Standards News GIPC Publishes Date Code Restrictions Guidance Document
ECIA’s GIPC has published a ‘Knowledge Document’ to clarify and recommend practices to improve efficiencies in the electronic component sales channel. The document is entitled, ‘Managing Date Code Restrictions on Orders for Electronic Components’ and is now available on the ECIA website. The knowledge document was prepared as the result of a cooperative effort between electronic component manufacturers and their authorized distributors.
The document states that ECIA members, who are electronic component manufacturers, distributors and manufacturers’ representatives recommend that electronic component customers avoid the specification of general date code restrictions when ordering electronic components from electronic component manufacturers and their authorized distributors.
