Welcome New Members!

Five component manufacturers, two distributors and two manufacturers’ reps added to roster of component channel industry leaders.

ECIA is pleased to announce that nine new companies have joined the association: C C Electro Sales Inc. and Pipe-Thompson Technologies Inc. are manufacturers’ representatives. Chief Enterprises LLC and Eastern States Components, LLC. d/b/a ES Components are distributors. Linx Technologies, PHYTEC America LLC, Rose Batteries, Skyworks Solutions, Inc., and Traco Electronic AG are component manufacturers.

New Podcast Episode

NAM Chief Economist Chad Moutray discusses current trends with ECIA’s Dale Ford 

ECIA’s newest ‘Channel Channel’ podcast is an in-depth and thoughtful discussion between ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford and National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)’s Chief Economist, Chad Moutray. This wide-ranging discussion between two seasoned industry experts reveals a wealth of insights into the volatility that has become a permanent factor for strategic planners in the post-pandemic economy. The two discuss the impact of supply disruptions, the positive signs for manufacturers, what’s really happening behind the scenes, whether a recession is baked into the forecast, workforce challenges, how the U.S. is doing in comparison with the rest of the world and much more.

ECIA Research and Analysis

ECIA offers its members insight into the industry and a variety of market trends information. Members can log into the website and visit the Stats & Insights page to access an increasing number of statistical reports. Some are available to the public, some to members and others are only accessible to those who participate in the survey.

Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) News

ECIA is pleased to announce that John Barrington has joined the GIPC.

John Barrington is the VP of Marketing for Powell Electronics. He has worked in the electronics industry for close to 40 years.

The Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) provides a forum to discuss processes in the authorized channel that drive best practices within our industry. The GIPC members on this committee work to identify common global problems and issues, formally organize with Subject Matter Experts to research the issues, provide guidance and areas for consideration, and then help drive adoption with the ECIA Board of Directors and Councils.
