FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ECIA Highlights 2021 Executive Conference Keynote Speaker: Dean Kamen

Atlanta - Dean Kamen is a featured speaker at ECIA’s 2021 in-person Executive Conference. Dean Kamen is an American engineer, inventor, and businessman, known for his invention of the Segway. He is the founder of  DEKA Research & Development Corporation and the non-profit organization FIRST®. Kamen holds over 1,000 patents.

Kamen’s session will address one of every executive’s most pressing challenges for 2022: the ‘Great Resignation’. In his presentation, “How to Get Involved to Recruit & Retain Future Employees & Customers,” he will discuss how FIRST® provides a future for STEM industry workforces; ways to support employees in mentorships, support FIRST® teams and events, and using FIRST® to hire and retain the best talent. This session is generously sponsored by Digi-Key Electronics and TE Connectivity.

"Dean is one of the most popular conference speakers we've been fortunate to have," said Mark Conley, Conference Chairman.  "He returns after 10 years to inspire a new group of industry executives to take up the mantel of STEM education as an avenue to recruit and retain the next generation. What better way for all of us to get back together again and hear Dean’s powerful message, and at a time when we are all looking to add members to each of our teams. We are really excited to hear from him!"

The 2021 event is themed, “Charting the Course Forward” and will be the first chance for the industry to meet in person in nearly two years. The electronic components industry thrives on relationships, and meeting in-person is the best way to foster those.
