Member of the Week: TDK-Lambda Americas

This week we honor TDK-Lambda as ECIA’s Member of the Week!

TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. represents the culmination of three well-established North American power manufacturers including Electronic Measurements Inc. (founded in 1945), Lambda Electronics (1948), and Innoveta Technologies (2001) and was acquired by TDK in 2008. They’ve earned the reputation of being a trusted world-class organization through a history of providing reliable and innovative power supplies. The company employs approximately 300 people, with engineering, manufacturing, and sales offices in California, New York, and Texas, including a 100,000 square-foot ISO-9001-certified manufacturing facility in Neptune, New Jersey. TDK-Lambda Americas provides sales support to Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and South and Central America. TDK-Lambda Americas is one of the most trusted manufacturers of high-quality power supplies in the world.

The company has been a member of the association for 15 years!  Executive VP Sales & Marketing Tom Wichert and Director National Distribution Sales/Inside Sales Julie Fajardo are quite active on several committees. Tom was a member of the ECIA Board and the ECIA Foundation Board for many years and currently serves on the EDS Board and the ECIA Manufacturer Council. Julie and Tom both participate on the Executive Conference Planning and the Foundation’s E-Learning Committees. The company has supported ECIA meetings through attendance and sponsorships.

“Working with the committees and groups of ECIA does provide many benefits: helping to strengthen the electronic components industry we all enjoy; excellent networking framework (it's nice to have a seat at the table); and finally through the education foundation, a nice forum to give back to electronic components industry,” Tom Wichert, Executive VP Sales and Marketing said.

We are indebted to TDK-Lambda Americas for their generosity and for making it possible for employees like Tom and Julie to take an active part in making the association better. Thank you to the whole team for your continued support!

Identify your Component Company's Actionable Sales Data (ASD)

Part 1 | September 9 | 1:00 PM Eastern | Register Today

It’s vital to building successful growth plans. Or more importantly, why it is important to identify this metric and then build your growth plans around it. In this two-part webinar series, Lectrix CEO, Graham Kilshaw takes us through how the Lectrix approach first identifies the cornerstone of their clients’ growth plans, and then how they use that metric to build a measurable sales and marketing plan. Every company in our industry can point to one or two metrics that are directly related to their sales, success and growth. Over the last five years, Lectrix has identified nine (9) of these actionable sales data metrics across different business models. Join ECIA & Lectrix to find or re-confirm yours. Part 2 will be September 22. Use the link above to register for both or one.

Future of the Workplace -  Post-Pandemic Trends in Office & Industrial Space

September 30 | 11:00 AM Eastern | Register Today

The global pandemic has fundamentally altered how and where people need to be located in order to complete their work. As the world has changed, so too has the future of the workplace. The work from home experiment turned out to be more successful than anyone thought and cultural norms around the importance of working in the office have changed.

Organizations are no longer just questioning WHEN their employees will return to the office, but WHO will return and at what frequency. This determination is front of mind for all organizations and begs the question on how much and what kind of space will be needed in the future to accommodate a hybrid work environment.

Please join us for a discussion with Brad Wilner and Manny Fitzgerald from CBRE on “The Future of the Workplace”.

EIA Standards News

In addition to the ECIA technical committees developing and maintaining standards for many of our product categories, ECIA also works with a number of other Standards Development Organizations on projects of mutual interest. One such organization, JEDEC, develops standards for the microelectronics industry.

We would like to bring to your attention one of their recently revised and published standards. JESD31F General Requirements for Authorized Distributors of Commercial and Military Semiconductor Devices (August 2021) identifies the general requirements for Authorized Distributors that supply Commercial and Military products.

This standard applies to all discrete semiconductors, integrated circuits and Hybrids, whether packaged or in wafer/die form, manufactured by all Manufacturers.

The purpose of this standard is to establish the requirements for Distributors of Commercial and Military semiconductor devices who stock, process (value-added), kit or repackage product. JESD31F Annex A provides an Audit Checklist that may be used to verify conformance to this standard.

The main content of the document is 26 pages.

For more detail, contact Ed Mikoski, ECIA Vice President of Standards and Technology.
