Faces of ECIA – Adam Osmancevic
June 2026 Highlight Part Two - Adam Osmancevic, Arrow Electronics
What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I am actively involved with ECIA through my participation in the Global Industry Practices Committee. This engagement has provided a valuable platform to collaborate with peers across the ecosystem—manufacturers, distributors, and representatives—to help advance standardization, ethical practices, and operational efficiency across our industry.
What I’ve gained most is perspective—ECIA brings together diverse viewpoints that help shape more balanced, forward-thinking approaches to common challenges such as supply chain resilience, cyber security and data transparency. It’s also been an excellent forum for building strong peer relationships across the global electronics industry.
What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
Arrow Electronics is a global provider of technology solutions that helps customers design, source, and deliver electronic components and systems. We operate at the center of the technology value chain—connecting leading semiconductor and IP&E component suppliers with customers across industrial, automotive, A&D and emerging technology markets.
In my role as vice president of supplier development for our global components business, I focus on strengthening strategic supplier partnerships, driving growth initiatives, and aligning global go-to-market strategies for the embedded portfolio. This includes working closely with key manufacturers to expand market opportunities. I also have responsibility for global market intelligence.
What is your favorite thing about this industry?
What I enjoy most about this industry is that it sits at the heart of innovation. Virtually every major technology trend—from electrification and AI to industrial automation and connectivity—relies on the components and solutions our ecosystem provides.
It’s a dynamic, fast-evolving environment where collaboration across the supply chain is critical, and where even small advancements in technology can have a significant global impact. The pace of change, combined with the opportunity to shape future technologies, makes this an incredibly exciting industry to be part of.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors mountain biking whenever possible. I also value time with family and enjoy traveling, which often gives me the opportunity to experience different cultures and perspectives—something I find both personally and professionally enriching.
I love watching and playing sports.
I’m also naturally curious about global markets and technology trends, so I tend to follow industry developments even outside of work—though I try to balance that with time to recharge.
What is the best piece of career advice you've ever received?
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received is to always focus on building long-term relationships, not just short-term outcomes. In our industry, trust and credibility are essential, and they are built over time through consistency, transparency, and delivering on commitments.
I would add that staying adaptable is equally important—our industry evolves quickly and being open to change while continuously learning is critical to long-term success.
