Europe's Cyber Rules Are reaching Your Product Line
The next cybersecurity deadline likely to affect the electronic components channel is not the U.S. DoD’s CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) date. On September 11, 2026, the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) began requiring manufacturers to report actively exploited product vulnerabilities and severe security incidents. An early warning can be due within 24 hours.
EDS 2027 Space Registration is Now Open
Registration is now open for companies who had Hotel Meeting Suites or Executive Meeting Rooms at EDS 2026. An email went out on September 15 to Primary Contacts to invite previous space-holders to complete a request for space at EDS 2027.
If your Primary Contact has changed since EDS 2026 or if you would like to request a Hotel Meeting Suite or Executive Meeting Room, please contact info@edssummit.com.
In order to access Member rates for EDS registration, please make sure that you are an ECIA member in good standing both at the time of registration and the time of the event.

This week, ECIA is proud to announce NextGen Components, Inc. as our member of the week. NextGen is a full-line electronic components distributor headquartered in California, USA. Founded in 2017 in Irvine, California, the company expanded its operations in November 2020 with the relocation to a new office and integrated warehouse facility in Lake Forest, California, significantly enhancing its inventory management and logistics capabilities.
