The Faces of ECIA – Bruce Kellar

What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I have been actively involved with ECIA through participation on several committees, including the COVID Protocol Committee and the team responsible for the development and rollout of the current PACE training program. I currently serve as President of the ECIA Foundation Board of Directors.

My involvement with ECIA has given me the opportunity to collaborate with many outstanding professionals across our industry. It has broadened my perspective, strengthened valuable relationships, and reinforced the importance of industry collaboration and education.

What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
Sager Electronics is a leading North American distributor of interconnect, power, and electromechanical components.

In my current role as Senior Vice President of Custom Solutions, I am responsible for business development, engineering, and production activities focused on delivering engineered solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers. Our team works closely with customers and supplier partners to provide value-added solutions that help solve complex application and manufacturing challenges.

What is your favorite thing about this industry?
I feel truly fortunate to have spent many years in this industry and to have developed so many meaningful friendships along the way. One of the things I enjoy most is that our industry is constantly evolving and plays a direct role in advancing the technologies and tools that shape our future. Being exposed to innovation and seeing how the products and solutions we support impact everyday life has always been one of the most rewarding aspects of this business for me.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’m fortunate to have my entire family living nearby, and I really value the time we spend together. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and golfing whenever I get the opportunity.

Are you currently binging any shows on Netflix, Hulu etc?
I’ve recently been enjoying Shrinking and Friends & Neighbors.
