ECIA’s August & Q3 Industry Pulse Sentiment Index Continues to Moderate from June & Q3 High
ECIA’s Industry Pulse: Electronic Component Trends and Sentiment August and Q3 2026
Atlanta –The ECIA Industry Pulse survey results reveal the continuation of a moderating trend that began in July. The overall average component index dropped by 4.9 points to 136.7. The overall index peaked in June at 154.1, so the index has fallen by 17.4 from its peak two months ago. Still, the August results are well above all scores for a period of 4.5 years prior to the recent upswing, from June 2021 to December 2025. The outlook for September from survey participants calls for overall sentiment to remain essentially flat month-to-month at 135.4.
“The results of the Q3 2026 Industry Pulse align with the August monthly results,” explained ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford. "The survey shows expectations of sales growth reaching a peak in Q3, with 80% of participants assessing growth compared to 70% seeing growth in Q2. In both Q2 and Q3, only 2% to 3% viewed a decline in market sentiment. Despite turbulent forces that continue to surround the market, the confidence among leaders in the authorized electronics components supply chain continues to be robust,” Ford concluded.
