TSCA Replacement Parts Coalition Letter to Hill

Downstream Users Coalition on TSCA Replacement Parts Amendment

On January 9, 2026, a coalition of industry groups including ECIA submitted a Letter of Support to Congressional leadership urging clarification of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) replacement parts exemption. The coalition advocates strengthening Section 6(c)(2)(D) of TSCA to ensure that replacement parts for complex durable goods can continue to be manufactured using materials originally approved at the time of product design—even if a chemical used in those parts later becomes restricted under TSCA.

The recommended amendment would make the exemption self-executing, preserve supply chains for essential replacement parts, and allow a reasonable transition period if future risk determinations require changes.

Introducing the Redesigned TrustedParts.com BOM Tool

Why We Needed the BOM Tool

ECIA’s TrustedParts.com, the only inventory aggregator with price and availability data for genuine parts from only authorized sources, has introduced a redesigned Bill of Material (BOM) tool. Our goal with this tool is to maintain and extend the functionality of our existing BOM tool while making it more user-friendly, compact, and easier to manage.

The streamlined design of the new BOM tool provides a more concise view of your parts while offering additional details about each component. It improves the experience of retrieving pricing and inventory, analyzing and researching parts, making purchase decisions, collaborating with other users, and more.

Advanced Memory IC Shortage Impact

A New Report for Members!

The gold rush for Artificial Intelligence (AI) has placed a severe strain on the ability of the major Memory IC makers to meet demand. The High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) technology has a voracious appetite for wafer space. This has resulted in all major Memory IC manufacturers reporting that they are “sold out” through 2026 and beyond. The AI Memory boom has created a severe supply chain bottleneck across electronics manufacturing.

This report, based on the “Deep Research” AI tool from AlphaSense, is a must-read for anybody working to manage the complexities of the electronics component supply chain.

AlphaSense Webinar Interview with BofA Economist, Stephen Juneau

AI-driven Expansion, Policy Shifts, and 2026 Macroeconomic Outlook

AlphaSense Market Intelligence Strategist, Ed Moya, recently hosted a highly informative Q&A session with Stephen Juneau, BofA Securities US Economist. Their discussion covered global growth breadth, AI-driven capital expenditure (CapEx), policy dynamics (including Federal Reserve independence and neutral rates), labor, inflation, productivity, geopolitics/supply chains, sector implications, markets/rates, and audience Q&A. The global headline from the webinar is that BofA sees ~3.5% global growth in 2026, roughly unchanged from a year ago; US growth slightly stronger than 2025 as prior headwinds (notably trade-related uncertainty) dissipate. Beyond this headline is an important analysis to support this outlook. Readers will be richly rewarded for the time invested in reading this summary of the webinar.
