The Faces of ECIA

November 2025 Highlight - Brooks Mattice, MFC Group

What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I currently serve on the Manufacturers’ Representative Council and, through that role, also participate in the Joint Council with leaders from distributors and suppliers across our industry. It’s been both enlightening and rewarding. ECIA has given me the chance to connect with some truly talented and smart people, and I’ve been consistently impressed by their motivation to make our industry better. Together, we’ve tackled a wide range of issues — from maximizing partner value and shaping best practices in representative contracts to navigating the impact of tariffs.

What I’ve gained most from my involvement is a broader perspective on the industry and a renewed appreciation for the power of collaboration. Being part of these discussions not only strengthens our collective knowledge but also inspires ideas that help move the industry forward.

What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
I’m the Vice President of Sales for MFC Group, a family of five manufacturers’ representative firms – Mel Foster Company, EAS Sales, FH Sales, TMC, and WES Tech Sales – serving 15 states across the Midwest. MFC Group provides strategic sales leadership, technical expertise, and customer-focused support for top-tier electronic component manufacturers. My role is to guide our sales teams and partners toward sustained growth and shared success.

What sets MFC Group apart is the depth and breadth of our capabilities. We have the largest technical sales staff in the Midwest enabling deep alignment with the leading customers in our region, ensuring that our principals’ technologies are positioned where they have the greatest impact.  Our sales teams are supported by a dedicated New Business Development team that drives customer expansion and opportunity creation. Our in-house Marketing group strengthens brand visibility and lead generation for our principals, while our Distribution Management team ensures alignment and execution across the channel.

We leverage best-in-class technology and data-driven tools to enhance collaboration and performance, all built upon an ESOP culture that fosters ownership, integrity, and long-term commitment. Guided by a leadership team with a shared vision for innovation and partnership, MFC Group continues to raise the standard for what a manufacturers’ representative organization can deliver to both our principals and our customers.

What is your favorite thing about this industry?
My favorite part of this industry is the people — innovative, motivated professionals who share a passion for progress and partnership. Collaboration and integrity are at the heart of what makes our community so strong.  This is a relationship-driven business at its core.

I’m equally inspired by the broader impact of electronics on society. Our industry enables the technologies that connect people, empower businesses, and improve quality of life across the globe. Being part of that ongoing story of innovation and impact is a privilege.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’m a proud father and Boilermaker. Both of our kids swim for Purdue, so a lot of our free time is spent following the Boilermaker Men’s and Women’s Swim Teams. Our family also has season tickets for Purdue’s Football and Basketball Teams.  We love spending time with our big extended Boilermaker families and friends at the games.

Are you currently binging any shows on Netflix, Hulu etc.?
Arrested Development and Seinfeld are my all-time favorites! Lately, I’ve been trending toward mysteries and thrillers — Ozark, Mindhunter, The Diplomat, Night Agent, and the Jack Ryan series have all been great. Every now and then, and much to my wife’s chagrin, I’ll sneak in some science fiction. 3 Body Problem is a series I really enjoyed.
