October 2025 Part 1 Highlight - Maddie Eaves, Sager Electronics
What is your involvement with ECIA and what have you gained from your engagement with the association?
I am a member of the ECIA Industry Recruiting Committee, where we developed videos and a “Best Practices” guide to help retain existing and attract new talent to the electronics industry. As part of this initiative, we held focus groups with newer professionals to gather insights, and I was able to contribute my own perspective as someone newer to the industry, along with my marketing background, to shape these resources. This committee has also allowed me to connect and collaborate with a wide range of industry professionals that I may not have otherwise had the chance to meet.
What does your company do and what is your role in your company?
Sager Electronics is a leading North American distributor of Interconnect, Power, and Electromechanical products, as well as a provider of custom solutions. In my role as Marketing Program Manager, I oversee our co-op marketing programs in partnership with our suppliers, working closely with them to develop and execute co-branded marketing initiatives.
What is your favorite thing about this industry?
The people—100%. As someone new to the industry, I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors who have guided me in my career, shared their knowledge, and shown a genuine interest in my success. From day one, I’ve felt welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow, which has made a lasting impact on my experience.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I enjoy anything that involves being outdoors (hiking, going to the beach, golf, etc.) or food (cooking new recipes at home or eating out with friends and family) or traveling (which usually involves both being outdoors and food
