September 16, 2025 ECIA Releases Study on Top 50 Worldwide Authorized Distributors 2024 Atlanta - ECIA has released its annual Top 50 Worldwide Authorized Distributors report, and there are some surprises. Each year, Chief Analyst Dale Ford painstakingly compiles this report from survey results, extensive research of public financial data, input from manufacturers and distributors, and web-based secondary research. Findings reflect both the research and Dale Ford’s deep understanding of the component channel. “The data reflect the electronic component industry turmoil of the past few years,” explained Ford. “While the Top 50 distributor revenues returned to growth of 4.8% in 2024, this improvement was almost entirely driven by Asian headquartered distributors, as 22 out of 36 Asian distributors achieved growth in 2024. As a whole, this group of 22 distributors achieved an average growth of 22.4%. Asian distributors experiencing negative growth in 2024 saw revenues decline by an average of 12.9% as a group. Among Americas and EMEA distributors, only six delivered positive growth in 2024. Painting an even more stark picture, among the Americas/EMEA headquartered group of distributors, those achieving growth only represent 8.3% of revenue in the overall group.”
The goal of the Top 50 Global Distributors study is to include the major authorized distributors from all three regions. As presented in the report, Asia’s share of the worldwide market for the Top 50 expanded dramatically, growing from 68.7% in 2023 to 74.6% in 2024.
