"Will My Cheese Ever Stop Moving"

From Alexa to drones and robotics, it is clear that technology continues to enter and change our lives at an ever increasing pace.  Noted Google futurist and inventor Ray Kurzweil calls this The Law of Accelerating Returns.  One needs to look no further than the advancement in computing from early 70’s computing to mobile technology today to understand its implications.   We are experiencing an inflection point of an even greater magnitude as technology is becoming no longer an isolated experience but instead an increasingly integrated part of our everyday lives.  Mark Blais and Dave Doherty of Digi-Key Electronics will be sharing their thoughts on these future trends and how they will shape our industry.

blaismarkd-kMark Blais, CIO, Digi-Key Electronics  (Blais - Doherty Presentation)

Mark joined Digi-Key in 2014 as their Chief Information Officer.  He has enjoyed a diverse career in Leadership roles within companies such as Target, Veritas, Symantec, Questar, and Lasersonics in technology epicenters like Silicon Valley.  His background leading enterprise development teams has allowed him to experience delivery in areas including 3D MRI, scientific lasers, consumer insights, graphic arts automation, data storage, and multi-channel point of sale.  He has experienced and led teams that have encompassed the driving force and rapidity of change that technology brings in both hardware and software.

Dave_DohertyDave Doherty, President and COO, Digi-Key Electronics

Dave took the reins as President and Chief Operating Officer of Digi-Key Electronics effective July 1, 2015. With over 30 years electronics industry experience split between semiconductor manufacturing and distribution, he has a unique perspective on industry trends and the keys to leading a successful business.  Digi-Key is one of the fastest growing distributors of electronic components in the world and is highly ranked year after year in industry surveys. He will share insight on how to avoid getting mesmerized - or paralyzed - with technology and the need to focus on leadership as a critical process to success, regardless of a company's size.
