As a member driven organization, ECIA has a number of different councils set up to carry out the work of the association under the direction and policies set by the ECIA Board of Directors. Each of these councils is comprised of individuals from ECIA member and associate member companies and ECIA staff resources. Promotion and positioning of ECIA, its brand, its mission and its various deliverables to ECIA members, their customers and the industry at large in order to help the association achieve its goals and objectives and maximize the value current members receive from their membership as well drive the recruitment of new members.
Statistics and Industry Data Council
Oversees the collection, processing and publication of a variety of unique industry statistics and market trends data sets gathered from member companies as well as sources from the industry at large.
EIA Standards Council
Serves as the policy council for technical standards development at ECIA including domestic, international and joint association standards and conformity assessment with a primary focus on passive electronic components and related technologies: capacitors, resistors, inductors, connectors, rack & panels, tape & reeled product, soldering technology.
Oversees the branding, marketing and content for various ECIA conferences including the annual Executive Conference and Regional Series events.
Supply Chain Council
Works to identify business issues and process inefficiencies within the Electronic Components industry supply chain, and in response, develops and helps drive awareness and adoption of industry best practices, environmental and process guidelines.
External Affairs Council
Provides input on behalf of ECIA members and communicates to developments to our members on issues related to legislative, regulatory and environmental oversight, as well as counterfeiting and the unauthorized sale of electronic components. In addition helps support ECIA alliances with other associations and external organizations.
