James Peter Kaplan was born in 1964 in California. He received a BS degree in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University in 1987, and an MBA from the College of William and Mary in 1992. Jim is currently President of Cornell Dubilier Electronics, a manufacturer of capacitors for electronic and electrical equipment. With corporate headquarters and manufacturing in Liberty, South Carolina, Cornell Dubilier also operates from sites in Massachusetts, Tennessee and Mexico, and a sales liaison office in Shenzhen, China. Jim’s previous positions were Production Control Manager, Mexicali, Mexico, during 1992-1994, and in Liberty, South Carolina, Manufacturing Manager, from 1994-1996, and General Manager, from 1996-1999. His hobbies include fishing, hiking and quail hunting. Jim is married to Judith Lee Kaplan (Julee Wallace, Class ’90 College of William and Mary). They have three children, Jamie, Claire, and Tomson, and reside in Pickens, South Carolina.
