Special TPC Survey on Tariffs Suggests Negative Impact over Past 2- 4 Weeks

Technology Partners Consulting, (TPC) recently conducted a 3rd survey of tariffs that focused on possible impact on the electronics supply chain and subsequent component demand from tariffs and trade issues. The survey showed 35% of respondents are seeing incremental negative impact over the last 2-4 weeks. Click here to download and review the complete survey report.

TPC provides independent third party consulting to electronics suppliers and financial services firms. TPC provides ECIA with a monthly report on a market trends survey administered by Glenn Hitchcock, TPC founder and president. The report provides results from a survey sent to 20,000 electronic industry professionals across the globe to assess their expectations for order activity and inventory levels.

Councils: Get Involved - Join Upcoming Calls

ECIA councils welcome the involvement of all ECIA members from their constituent group.
The next scheduled  Manufacturer Rep Council call is Friday, January 25th at 10:30 a.m. eastern.
Manufacturer Council meets monthly via conference call with the next meeting scheduled for Friday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m. eastern.
These periodic calls supplement two, in-person meetings held each year. The meetings and calls allow for non-voting participation by interested members, with an opportunity to comment on a variety of topics, and volunteer to work on committees that may be chartered for specific initiatives.
If interested in participating, please contact Debbie Conyers. For logistical reasons, participation is limited to one executive  representative from each member company.

FIRST Robotics Competition Kick Off : 2019 Season Launches Destination Deep Space

On January 5th, nearly 100,000 high-school students on 3,790 teams at 146 venues around the globe joined the 2019 Kickoff via live broadcast.  Destination Deep Space is a theme geared to expanding imaginations in a new generation.  Teams have just six weeks to design, build and test their robots before the competitions commence on February 27th.
Join top electronics firms like 3M, Bourns, CUI, Cypress, Digi-Key, Eaton, ebm-papst, Honeywell, Infineon, Mouser, National Instruments, Panasonic, Sager, TDK, TE Connectivity, Vishay,  and Yageo and get involved. The FIRST website provides a list of all competition events and a search tool to find a team in your area. Monetary and part donations, mentoring, and build space are just a few ways to make an impact.

Did You Know? Women in Electronics Association: January Chapter Meetings Announced

Women in Electronics has announced the January chapter meeting schedule. Make a note of the date in your area and plan to attend. Meetings provide a wonderful networking opportunity as well as the chance to learn more about the organization and how to get involved. Membership and meetings are open to everyone in the electronics industry.
