A Busy Month for Standards

Participation in ECIA standards programs is open to all individuals who are directly and materially affected by matters addressed by the work. The EIA Standards Council (ESC) is presently specifically seeking additional participation by the User category. This typically includes, but is not limited to, OEMs, ODMs, Contract Manufacturers, and Electronics Distributors.

The ECIA Standards Department is starting off the second quarter of 2018 with a very full plate! Staff attended the ANSI 100th Anniversary Gala at Union Station in Washington, DC, which celebrated a century of voluntary standards in the US. Ed Mikoski, Vice-President of Standards and Technology hosted the 2018 Spring Engineering Summit in Savannah, GA and will be busy this week in New Orleans meeting with members of the CE-2 National Connector and Socket Standards Committee. New projects will be announced soon and, as always, members are encouraged to lend their expertise and become a part of the US and international standards development process.

For more information on these projects or the EIA Standards Program, please contact Edward F. Mikoski Jr, MBA, CStd, FSES, Vice President of Standards and Technology at: emikoski@ecianow.org or (571) 323-0253.
